FIRST - Frontiers in Research: Space and Time.

FIRST-Lab is an ETH Technology Platform for research and education in the field of micro- and nanoscience. FIRST-Lab is open to researchers from ETH, other universities, as well as from industry with compatible processes. We maintain a centralized clean room facility with state-of-the-art equipment for a wide range of processes in micro- and nanofabrication with emphasis on III-V materials growth.

FIRST-Lab is a user lab: We offer training of students and Post Docs on our sophisticated equipment to teach them how to use it for their own research. We do not offer process services. FIRST-Lab is directly funded by ETH Executive Board. User fees apply to all users.

FIRST-Lab opened to users on July 5, 2002.
